my computer has died and won’t turn on or power up but I have lots of photos in particular on there that I don’t want to lose – can I do anything now to save them all?

You can pull out the hard drive and put it in another computer or get those ide/sata to usb adapters.
Easiest way to do it would be to open it up, take out the hard drive, go to another computer, plug it in as a secondary drive and copy/backup any files you don’t want to lose.
